3 Floyds Tap Takeover Comes to Bull Moose Bar & Grille — Friday, August 14

On Friday, August 14 from 5-7pm , 3 Floyds Brewing takes over the taps at Bull Moose Bar & Grille in downtown Sandwich, IL. One night, one brewery, and a draft list you will not find anywhere else in DeKalb County.

What Is a Tap Takeover?

A tap takeover is exactly what it sounds like. For one night, a single brewery claims our draft lines and shows off what it does best. Instead of the usual lineup, you get a focused pour list built around one brewer's range, from the flagship pours people already know to the seasonal and specialty releases that rarely make it this far west of the state line.

It is the easiest way we know to try something genuinely new without committing to a full pint of the unknown. Ask your bartender what is pouring, tell them what you usually drink, and let them steer you.

Why 3 Floyds

Based in Munster, Indiana, 3 Floyds has spent decades building one of the most recognizable reputations in Midwest craft brewing. They built that reputation the hard way, on beers that refused to play it safe, and the result is a following that treats release days like holidays.

Getting them on our lines for a night is a genuine treat for the Sandwich area, and we are not taking it for granted.

What to Eat While You Drink

Craft beer deserves food that can stand up to it. A few things worth ordering on the 14th:

• Rajun Cajun Mac — our August Mac of the Month, back by popular demand and built with enough heat to hold its own against a hoppy pour

• Smokehouse Bison Burger — locally sourced bison from Triangle Ranch in Sheridan, IL, stacked with bold smokehouse toppings. This one is a limited run, so when it is gone, it is gone

• Gouda Bacon Mac Bites — crispy outside, molten inside, and engineered for sharing across a crowded bar

The takeover does not replace your usual Friday reasons to come in. Happy Hour runs 4 to 6 PM with $1 off all drinks, and our regular Friday lineup stays in place alongside the 3 Floyds lines.

We are easy to find in the heart of downtown Sandwich, with free parking on Main Street and behind the building. And if you have never been, part of our dining room is an authentic 1893 Pullman Palace Car once used by Theodore Roosevelt on the campaign trail. It is a fair bet no other bar in Illinois is pouring craft beer next to a piece of history like that.
