Things to Do in Sandwich IL This Weekend: Football, Neverland & October Flavors

The first full week of October is a busy one in Sandwich, IL — Friday night football returns home, Indian Valley Theatre takes over the Sandwich Opera House, and two new October flavors land at Bull Moose Bar & Grille. Friday Night Lights: Indians Host Marengo — Friday, October 9

The Sandwich Indians are back home under the lights, hosting Marengo at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 9. Home games bring the whole town out — and Bull Moose Bar & Grille, just minutes from the field at 202 S. Main St., is the pre-game dinner spot. The kitchen rolls from 11 AM, so grab wings, a burger, or October's Mac of the Month before kickoff. Go Indians!

Neverland Project at the Sandwich Opera House — Saturday, October 10

Indian Valley Theatre presents the Neverland Project at the historic Sandwich Opera House, with a 3-day run October 9–11. Saturday features two shows: 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Tickets are available at indianvalleytheatre.com.

And because it's an Opera House show day, the Phantom of the Opera House burger makes its return to Bull Moose Bar & Grille on Saturday only — fresh jalapeños, chipotle mayo, onions, and cheddar. It only appears when the Opera House lights go up, so make Saturday dinner and a show in downtown Sandwich.

Saturday Morning at the Fairgrounds: Cross Country Meet — October 10

The Sandwich High School Cross Country Meet takes over the Sandwich Fairgrounds on Saturday morning. Good luck to all the runners — post-race lunch is on Main Street.

Sunday at Sandwich Market — Sunday, October 11

The second-Sunday tradition continues: the Sunday at Sandwich vintage, antique, and handmade market runs 8 AM–3 PM at the Sandwich Fairgrounds. Make a day of it — browse the market, then swing into Bull Moose Bar & Grille for lunch and the Bears at Packers watch party.
