Things to Do in Sandwich, IL This Week: Fair Finale, Bears Week 1 and Fortunate Sons (Sept 13-19)

Fair week is behind us, but the calendar in Sandwich, IL does not slow down. Here is what is happening around town between September 13 and 19, 2026 — and where to eat before, after, or during.

Sunday, September 13 — Sandwich Fair Finale and Bears Week 1

Two things at once.

The Sandwich Fair wraps its 138th year today at the fairgrounds on Suydam Road. Sunday is Family Day, gates are open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and it is the last chance this year.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears open their 2026 season on the road against Carolina at noon Central. We have it on the 98" TV at Bull Moose Bar & Grille, along with game day specials: $2 16oz domestics, $4 premium bottles, $3.50 well mixers, BOGO 50% off appetizers, and 20 wings with a pitcher for $30.

We are about two miles from the fairgrounds. Come off the midway and into a booth.

Wednesday, September 16 — Reptile Rodeo at the Sandwich Opera House

The Opera House kicks off its children's show season with Reptile Rodeo by Reptile Den, a 60-minute presentation featuring more than a dozen reptiles and bugs from around the world. Shows at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM at 140 E. Railroad St.

It lets out right into the lunch window. Our lunch specials run 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and you earn double loyalty points during that window Monday through Friday.

Friday, September 18 — Sandwich Indians at Harvard

The Sandwich Indians are on the road at Harvard, kickoff at 7:00 PM. It is a bit of a drive, so if you are staying local we will have it up on the 98" TV. Friday specials: $4 premium drafts, $1 off signature drinks, and $4 bombs.

Saturday, September 19 — Fortunate Sons at the Sandwich Opera House

The Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute takes the Opera House stage at 7:30 PM as a Season Show. We are a two-minute walk from the theater and our kitchen is open until 9:00 PM on Saturdays.

Show night also means one specific thing on our end. Ask your server about the Phantom of the Opera House — it is only available on Opera House show nights, and you will not find it on the printed menu.

Every Day This Week

• Monday — Cheeseburger Monday, $9.99 all day, and the one day lunch specials run all day long

• Tuesday — Family Night: kids eat for $1 with a full-priced adult entrée, plus double loyalty points all day
