This is one of the busiest weeks of the year in downtown Sandwich, IL. A Bears home opener, a Neil Diamond tribute at the Sandwich Opera House, Taste of Sandwich, Craft Day and Sandwich High School Homecoming all land between September 20 and 26. Here is your day-by-day guide to things to do in Sandwich this week, plus where to eat and drink at Bull Moose Bar & Grille, 202 S. Main St., right in the heart of downtown. Whether you are coming from Plano, Yorkville, Somonauk, Newark or anywhere in DeKalb County, this is a great week to spend a day in Sandwich.

Sunday, September 20: Bears vs. Vikings Home Opener Watch Party

The Bears open their home schedule at Soldier Field against the Minnesota Vikings at 12:00 PM on FOX, and Bull Moose Bar & Grille will have the game on the 98-inch TV. Game day specials include $2 16oz domestics, $4 premium bottles, $3.50 well mixers, BOGO 50% off appetizers, and 20 wings plus a pitcher for $30. Sunday Funday Hour runs from 12 to 2 PM.

Sunday, September 20: Solitary Man, A Neil Diamond Tribute at the Sandwich Opera House

Solitary Man brings the music of Neil Diamond to the historic Sandwich Opera House at 4:00 PM. Bull Moose Bar & Grille is a two-minute walk from the Opera House and open until 8 PM for dinner after the show.

Show nights also mean the Phantom of the Opera House burger is on. It is topped with fresh jalapeños, chipotle mayo, onions and cheddar, and it is only available on Sandwich Opera House show nights, so when the Opera House lights are on, the Phantom is on the menu.
